Unemployment Rates Decline

MADISON, WI (WHBL) - Sheboygan’s unemployment rate went down in April.  The state Department of Workforce Development released their monthly preliminary numbers for counties and metro area Wednesday.  For the Sheboygan area, the rate went down from March seventh-tenths-of-a-percent to 7.9.  That is below last April’s rate of 8.2.  For the entire county, the rate of 6.5 in April is half-a-percent below March’s rate.  Across the state, all but two metro areas and all but seven counties saw a rate decline last month.  The state’s unemployment rate stayed the same at 7.1-percent.
