SHEBOYGAN, WI. (WHBL) - Sheboygan police are heading to McDonalds today for Coffee With A Cop.
Sergeant Joel Kuszynski says the program is part of the city's continuing efforts to improve community involvement and let people get to know their police officers. "This provided a forum for people to come and meet with their neighborhood officers, and maybe talk to them about things that are going on in their community and neighborhood. And maybe talk about things they don't feel necessary to call the police about."The events have been held since last winter and officers say the sessions have been really well received.
The city moves the meetings around the community to local businesses that are willing to host the police and offer up the space to chat. Kuszynski says all you need to do is show up ready to talk. "Nothing preplanned, there's no speeches, there's no presentations, it's just your chance to show up and have some conversations with the police officers in the city."
The event runs this morning from 9:30 am to 11 am at the McDonalds on South Business Drive.
