SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Over 700 Sheboygan High School students are getting ready to Walk the Bowl for graduation.

The commencement ceremonies get underway Sunday afternoon at Vollrath Park in Sheboygan. Schools superintendent Joe Sheehan says 722 students from all of Sheboygan's high schools will be taking part in this year's festivities. But he says it's a day to remember for all grade levels. "Kids have worked hard all year, and some of the more reluctant kids have been successful, and this is a time to reflect and say, 'Hey, you made it!' either through graduation or going to 8th grade or 6th grade, it's just a real fun time of year." Graduation is scheduled for 2 pm.

Residents can also take part in the annual Diploma Dash 5K run walk before hand. Sheehan says the 5K run/walk has become very popular. "We'll have several hundred walkers this year, walkers and runners, we hope to see as many people as possible." That's a fundraiser for the Sheboygan Education Foundation. It starts at 9 am at Vollrath Park and heads down along the Lakeshore to the YMCA and back. You can register for the race stating at the First Congregational Church starting at 7:30.

If there is a change on location due to weather, you'll hear about it here on WHBL.
