SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- A Sheboygan man will spend time in prison for stabbing a woman during a fight.
24-year-old Ashton Thomaston was sentenced on Friday to five years in prison and five on extended supervision after pleading guilty to second degree reckless injury last month.
Police were originally called to Memorial Medical Center last September for a report of a woman with a stab wound. The woman originally told police she'd been randomly attacked when coming back from her Sheboygan Falls apartment, but her story changed as she was telling it to different officers. She eventually admitted that she and Thomaston got into a fight and he slashed her in the thigh with a knife.
Thomaston had been facing 12 years in prison on the charges.
