SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- A Sheboygan man is heading to prison on child porn charges.
59-year-old Jeffrey Ernisse pleaded guilty on Wednesday to 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Sheboygan County Judge L. Edward Stengel sentenced him to five years in prison and five years on extended supervision. As part of his sentencing, Ernisse will have to register as a sex offender, and will not be allowed to use the internet or have contact with juvenile girls.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, police were investigating reports of a sexual assault against a young girl with Ernisse as the suspect. Police say Ernisse confessed to them during the investigation that he took part in taking sexual pictures of himself and the victim as well as engaging in sexual contact. He allegedly also told police that he relationship with the girl got "way off track" and that he'd fallen in love with her.
There are still multiple felonies from the original assault case pending against Ernisse including exploitation and sexual assault of a child. He'll be in court for a plea hearing in that case April 25th.
