SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- A Two Rivers woman is headed to trial on numerous charges after being stopped with drugs in her car.

38-year-old Kandie Ripley waived her preliminary hearing on Wednesday and was bound over for trial on numerous drug counts, including possession of narcotics and cocaine, misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and 12 counts of felony bail jumping as a repeater.

According to a criminal complaint, officers pulled a car over in the Town of Holland early Friday morning because the vehicle's tags were expired. The couple in the car told police that they were coming from a wedding in Milwaukee. The officer noted that neither the male driver or the female passenger was dressed like they were coming from a wedding.

The officer says he pulled the driver from the vehicle and told him he'd like to search the car. The driver refused and told the officer that there drugs in the car but that they weren't his and that they instead belonged to the female passenger who had identified herself as Candy, like the food.

The officer then had Ripley exit the car, and searched it. Inside he found drug paraphernalia in the glove box, a baggie with a rock of cocaine, and an unlabeled prescription bottle containing morphine and clonazepam. Ripley was then arrested, but told police that the drugs were the drivers and only the pills were hers.

Police say the driver confessed to bringing Ripley to Milwaukee to buy drugs and that lying to police was stupid. He also said that Ripley told him not to let police search the car because they would find the drugs.

Ripley is free on a $10,000 cash bond. Future court dates have not been set.
