SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Continuing a tradition that has gone on for a number of years, the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s office is hosting three criminal law interns for the next several months.
District Attorney Joe DeCecco says the interns will get experience that will assist them in making future career choices, and helping to ensure that they will have a reality-based view of the criminal justice system.
The interns include:
Kristyn Kuzniar, who is nearing completion of her second year of study at Marquette Law School and hopes to be hired as a prosecutor when she graduates. She has been given authorization to make appearances on behalf of the state, with direct supervision of a prosecutor and following Wisconsin Supreme Court law student practice rules.
Megan Gomez, a senior at Lakeland College with a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She will be interning with office prosecutors, and has plans to either attend law school or become a federal law enforcement officer.
Emily Ruehle, a senior at Lakeshore Technical College in their Paralegal Program, will be interning in the Victim/Witness office.
DeCecco adds that the interns will not be paid when they are in office, but will receive educational credit for their work.
