SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - Foundations for two utilities in our area have recently awarded grants to local organizations and schools to help with their services or education.
The Alliant Energy Foundation announced earlier this month they have given over 30-thousand dollars to over a dozen non-profits throughout the state, with an emphasis on east-central Wisconsin. Those organizations include Making Spirits Bright in Sheboygan, Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County Inc., Sheboygan County Interfaith Organization, and Lakeshore Technical College Foundation Inc.
In a statement, the foundation’s Executive Director Julie Bauer says the grants are investments that make the communities they serve stronger.
Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation awarded 22 one-thousand dollar grants to school districts in their service area as part of their Innovative Educator Grants. The grants are given to help pay for programs that help in the teaching of science, technology, engineering, and math.
One of the schools is Sheboygan Falls High School, intended to be used for a maker cart.
