SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - Traffic on I-43 was backed up in both directions for a time Tuesday morning in southern Manitowoc County due to jackknifed semis. The Sheriff’s Department said the first semi jackknifed in the southbound lanes about 6:30 near the scales, blocking southbound traffic. A little later, two semis jackknifed near Wagner’s RV at Cleveland, blocking both northbound lanes. The southbound lanes were cleared quickly, but the northbound lanes remained blocked at Cleveland until about 8 o’clock. At one point, traffic was backing up into Sheboygan County. Roads throughout the area remains snow-covered and slippery and there are some visibility problems due to blowing and drifting.
