JUNEAU, WI (WHBL/KFIZ) - Bond has been set at $250,000 cash for the 17-year-old Fitchburg man who shot an assistant manager at the Fleet Farm in Beaver Dam. Jared Spencer was charged in Dodge County Court last Friday for the shooting in the store parking lot last Wednesday evening.
The 31-year-old assistant manager and a store security person followed Spencer into the parking lot after he stole some ammunition. Spencer fired once, striking the assistant manager in the left wrist and shoulder. No update has been provided, but initial word was that the injuries were not life-threatening.
Spencer then drove away from the scene, but law enforcement caught up and arrested him. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Thursday.
A second suspect was also arrested as a possible accomplice.
