SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - It was a stormy start to the new work week in Sheboygan County as a line of strong and severe thunderstorms moved through the area before the sunrise.

Several Sheboygan area streets were flooded for a time.  There were also cars stranded near 22nd Street, numerous reports of manhole covers coming off, and reports of flooding in at least one building on Water Street.

Officially, the Sheboygan County Airport received around one-and-a half inches of rain over a few hours this morning from a line of strong and severe thunderstorms that move through the state.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Steve Davis says several thunderstorm cells merged in Sheboygan County, causing some spots to get higher amounts and leading to some temporary localized flooding.

The other major damage was wind, with reports to the National Weather Service of a tree down in the Beechwood area.

There was also a report of a lightning strike to a home in Plymouth.
