SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - With the recent Supreme Court ruling allowing same sex marriages to take place anywhere in the United States, it opens up a lot of questions regarding what services that have traditionally been for heterosexual couples will now be serving couples that are of the same gender.
One of those services is marriage counseling, which Great Marriages fits into.
This organization in Sheboygan County has been asked about this possibility from the public, and their answer is a yes.
Executive Director Debra Wolniak says the group will not change its overall mission regarding sexual orientation or any other discrimination. "As we always have had our door open to anyone seeking information on healthy relationships; that you’re continuing to grow for your family’s sake, the health of your community, and frankly for the next generation to come."
Wolniak adds the group’s Board of Directors is reviewing what ways to best fulfill the needs for same-sex couples who seek their services.
Great Marriages was the topic of the most recent "A Closer Look" program. You can find the replay of the show on our website in the "Local" news page.
