SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - As many will spend time with their fathers on Sunday, the Sheboygan County Chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America will hold a special observance for those who can’t celebrate with their father. A presentation will be held at the Sheboygan County Veterans Memorial on Wilgus Road starting at 8 a.m.
Chapter Secretary Jim Riesenberg says a single red road will be placed at the Vietnam War kiosk in honor of Father’s Day, modeled after a similar observance held at the national Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington D.C.
Also to be placed is a single yellow rose to honor the county’s only unaccounted casualty for the Vietnam War, and three white roses at the Global War on Terrorism kiosk to honor casualties with Sheboygan County ties.
