SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man has been charged for multiple thefts from an area Pick n’ Save to maintain a drug addiction.

41 year old Anthony Gilbert was charged Friday with eight counts of retail theft, six as felonies and the other two as misdemeanors.  He is alleged to have stolen over five thousand dollars worth of merchandise from the Sheboygan South Pick n’ Save in late May and early June.

According to the criminal complaint, Gilbert took freezer bags, baby formula, and liquor on eight separate occasions over a two week period. A store official spotted the thefts on surveillance video and informed Sheboygan Police.

When interviewed by police, Gilbert admitted to stealing the items and then sold the items in Milwaukee to get money to maintain a Percocet addition.

Gilbert was given a three-thousand dollar cash bond and will have a preliminary hearing June 24.
