SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan summer tradition will get underway Wednesday evening, weather permitting. The Sheboygan Pops Concert Band will begin its schedule of five free performances at Fountain Park’s band shell, starting at 6:30.
Associate Director Allan Brusse tells WHBL News people will be entertained with a wide variety of music. "We do Broadway, marches, popular songs; good entertainment."
The band has been around since 1989, and the summer concerts are a key part of the group's annual performance.
Brusse says this year's group consist of around 35 mostly amateur members. "It’s just people who enjoy playing," says Brusse. "Some of them have been with the band for many, many years. Some of them have only been with us for a short time."
The band had scheduled five concerts for every other Wednesday through August 12th. Several of the concerts will have special performers taking part. Brusse says no rain dates have been scheduled as of yet.
