SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man will be spending a number of years in prison for sexual assaulting his daughter. Judge Timothy Van Akkeren sentence 30 year old Joseph Torres Monday to 15 years in prison, followed by 10 years extended supervision.
Torres was found guilty by a jury last month of first-degree child sexual assault for sexually assaulting his then nine year old daughter at his home in February.
Torres, as well as defense attorney Brett Kaehne, continued to profess innocence during the sentence hearing.
Assistant District Attorney Joel Urmanski said the nature of the crime and Torres’ past criminal record required a lengthy sentence, which Judge Van Akkeren agreed to.
