SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The person who led Sheboygan County law enforcement on a high speed chase this week has been charged.
35 year old Jedidiah Bridwell of Plymouth is facing six charges. Four are felonies: attempting to flee an officer, a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a short-barreled shotgun, and recklessly endangering safety. He also faces two misdemeanors for domestic abuse and violating a domestic abuse injunction.
According to the criminal complaint, law enforcement searched for Bridwell Tuesday after his wife received a message from him earlier in the day saying he was going to kill her and his brother-in-law.
Bridwell was found at the Baymont Inn in Plymouth entering his vehicle. Plymouth Police officers tried to apprehend Bridwell, but he then left the area.
This began a high speed chase that led law enforcement in and around Plymouth on state highways 57 and 67, county roads and city streets. Speeds at times reach 100 miles per hour. The chase also forced other vehicles on the road to swerve out of the way.
The chase eventually ended on Highway 67 and County Line Road north of Elkhart Lake after spike strips were used to puncture Bridwell's tires and a pit maneuver was used. Officers found a sawed-off shotgun with five rounds of ammunition in Bridwell's vehicle.
Bridwell made his initial court appearance Thursday. He faces over 30 years in jail if found guilty of all charges.
