SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) -  June in Wisconsin means June Dairy Month, the annual observance for one of the state's largest industries.  The Sheboygan County Dairy Promotion Association will be busy helping to spread the word about the importance of dairy farms in the county, the state, the country, and the world.

Association President Wendy Lammers says they get assistance from the county 4-H program this month.  "The Sheboygan County Dairy Promotion Association does sponsor 4-H clubs to put up posters and do window displays, which each club does get money from us for doing that," says Lammers.

Lammers says some agriculture based businesses also help out with free treats.  "The Adell Co-op and the Kettle Lakes; they do have free ice cream for any customers that come in."

The biggest event for the association will be the annual Breakfast on the Farm.  This year it will be at Lammers’ farm on County A west of Oostburg June 20.

The association is also busy throughout the year with two ambassadors who go to classrooms in Sheboygan County to teach kids about the dairy industry.  There is also Addie the Cow, a life-size cow that can be milked.
