Road Closures in Sheboygan Coming

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Driving around Sheboygan will take a little longer in several spots over the next few weeks.

Anyone who uses Wildwood Avenue near the baseball park will have to find an alternative route Friday.  The road will be closed to traffic between New Jersey Avenue and South 22nd Street for the annual Project G.R.I.L.L. event.

Starting Monday, the final asphalt layer will be laid on South Eighth Street between Union Avenue and Kentucky Avenue.  The project began last year, but was put on hold through the winter months.  The last stage of work will take up to two weeks to complete.

Sheboygan’s Public Works Department says work will be done a few blocks at a time, so traffic will be closed only to the areas where asphalt is being laid at the time.

As a heads up, it won't be long before work begins on the bridge over the Sheboygan River on South 14th Street.  That project will close traffic on the bridge and a detour will be in place.  WHBL will inform you once we get word when the project will start.
