SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - School districts kept a close eye on the wind chills Wednesday in deciding whether or not they would hold classes.  In the end, school districts across Sheboygan County decided to keep schools open on a regular schedule.

Cedar Grove-Belgium Superintendent Jeanne Courneene says any decision to cancel or delay requires more than just her.  "I consult my people, which would be our director of transportation.  I’ll consult a neighboring school district and fellow superintendent.  And also, if need be, I’ll contact Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department just to verify a temperatures that is more real to where our district is," said Courneene.

Courneene says all Sheboygan County school districts follow the same guidelines that when wind chills reach minus 30, classes are cancelled or delayed until conditions warm.

Last year’s record setting cold caused districts to cancel classes for several days.
