SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WHBL) - The transition to new state legislators for our area will officially take place next week, but two of them will take time Monday to thank local residents for their help in getting elected in November. Assemblymen-elect Terry Katsma and Tyler Vorpagel will be holding a ceremonial swearing in ceremony at the Sheboygan County Courthouse at 5 p.m.
Katsma says this is not the official swearing in, which will take place in Madison on January 5. "But many people can’t make that, so this is an opportunity to have a witness and have an observation on how that’s going to work. So It’s going to be a chance for us two to thank those of our supporters," said Katsma.
Judge Timothy Van Akkeren will lead the ceremony, and a small reception will be held afterwards.
