SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A Sheboygan Company is helping the community forget the departure of Thomas Industries a few years ago. American Orthodontics is turning the former Thomas building at Taylor and Washington Avenue into a showpiece for the city. Matt Klitzke, Marketing Communications Manager for American Orthodontics, says the renovation will be finished by next April and, when it's done, it will be impressive with lots of glass on both sides of the building, a new main entrance, and the company's logo prominently lighted on both sides of the building. Klitzke says some production lines are already working in the building, but it won’t be until next April when all 460 workers will be there. American Orthodontics is the largest private manufacturer of orthodontic products in the county and has customers in over 100 countries. They are currently located in three buildings at Cambridge and North 18th. Klitzke says the company feels it's important to have a great looking facility there since it's such a prominent location. He said, "It's important that we have a nice looking building there just for the city and community to shine on everything were doing and just the fact that we are staying in the community which we're excited about as well."
