SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The city of Sheboygan may soon be looking into setting up a system of using on-call, part-time firefighters to supplement the full-time staff. A resolution to be introduced tonight when the City Council convenes for its regular meeting directs city officials to develop a plan to be submitted to the council by March 4th. The resolution cites the potential for numerous retirements in the near future, thus, creating an opportunity for the city to transition into a system of combining full-time and part-time paid on-call firefighters. The resolution is expected to be introduced tonight and then referred to committee for further study.
