SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The director of the Mead Public Library is stepping down after 21 years in that position. Sharon Winkle told the Library Board last week that she intends to retire on February first. She said her retirement comes at a time when the library has a very able staff and well-informed Library Board that will work together to assure a smooth transition during the search for a new director. The board will meet next week to determine the process for hiring Winkle’s successor. Winkle thanked the board for its support and acknowledged the support of elected officials and the community during her tenure.
