SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The 80-million dollar dredging of the Sheboygan River, which began last August, will be wrapped up by Christmas. Development Manager Chad Pelishek said crews are finishing up at the mouth of the river and should be wrapping up by Christmas. He said crews will then have to decommission the worksites, and there may be some cleanup that will have to wait until spring. Pelishek, on Sheboygan’s Morning News Thursday, said the EPA is calling the project a “huge success." He said, "We ended up with a deeper river channel and the EPA just told us yesterday that the contamination is one-part per million or less, which is like leaving only a trace of contamination in the river."
