SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - A third person has taken out papers for Sheboygan mayor. Alderman John Belanger is the third to take out papers for the election in April. Over the weekend, former County Board Chairman Mike Vandersteen took out nomination papers for the office, and Sheboygan Mayor Terry Van Akkeren announced he’d seek re-eletion on Tuesday morning. Belanger was elected to the common council this past April, and currently represents the 1st District. Candidates have until January 2nd to turn in nomination papers.
