SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The 2013-14 public school year gets underway today. Sheboygan Area School District Superintendent Joe Sheehan said even with increased security at school buildings a focus of many school districts recently, he encourages parents and community members to take time to check them out. Sheehan said, "They're your schools. Take a recess and come visit." He said people can stop in the office of any school and let them know who they are and come and "see the kids in action." Sheehan added district residents can assist in the buildings by volunteering their time. You can contact the local school building for visit and volunteer opportunities, or contact the district office at 459-3500.
