SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A town of Lima man is in the county jail after a police chase Sunday night. The Sheriff’s Department reports it happened about midnight when members of the OWI Task Force attempted to stop a car for speeding on Highway 57 north of Waldo. Lt. Jason Liermann said the 39 year old driver refused to stop and headed east on County U until officers forced him to a stop with a Pursuit Intervention Technique. Liermann said it’s a tactic involving controlled contact between the squad car and the vehicle at slow speeds. The squad sustained only scuff marks and a cracked turn signal. The driver was arrested on several traffic charges, including drunk driving.
