SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - Efforts continue on to treat those who had contracted tuberculosis this spring. Jean Beinemann with Sheboygan County Public Health told the county board Tuesday they have been active since the first case was reported 132 days ago. Beinemann provided a recap of all the actions taken since April 11 to respond to this disease outbreak. She said those who have contracted this multi-drug resistant strand are getting proper treatment, with state funds helping to pay for medication, quarantine and nursing. County Emergency Management Director Steve Steinhardt shared his thanks to all those who have assisted from the local, state and national levels. Beinemann said work will continue to try to keep additional TB cases from emerging and spreading.
