Suspect Charged in ATM Attack

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man who attempted to break into an ATM in the city of Sheboygan with a crowbar early Thursday morning is facing up to 8 years in prison.  26 year old Ian Kinney was formally charged yesterday with criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools.  He was nabbed after a short police chase thanks to an alert citizen.  Authorities said he was watching TV early Thursday when he heard a banging noise and went outside to investigate and saw Kinney smashing and prying on the ATM at the U.S. Bank at 13^th and Clara.  He then called police. The ATM was never entered, but bank officials estimated the damage at $10,000.
