New policy for saving spots along Sheboygan parade routes

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A new policy will be enforced in the City of Sheboygan regarding when people can reserve spots along parade routes.  Mayor Mike Vandersteen and Sheboygan Police Chief Chris Domagalski announced yesterday that attendees will be allowed to put out chairs and blankets no more than four hours before the start of a parade.

The change comes in response to complaints received regarding officers moving items intended to save spots along the Fourth of July Parade route that were placed the day before.  Vandersteen said the policy is intended to balance both police concerns for past practices and public want to save parade viewing spots.

The policy will be first used for the Bratwurst Days parade August 3.
