SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - The Sheboygan man in prison for the shooting death of Pheng Lee has been ordered to pay nearly $37,000 to cover the costs of Lee’s funeral. Judge L. Edward Stengel set the restitution Friday afternoon for 21 year old Kou Yang after hearing from an expert on the traditions of Hmong funerals. Lee’s family submitted bills to the court including the $17,000 from Ballhorn Funeral Chapel for a 3 day funeral, $6,400 for the butchering for 7 cows and 5 pigs used to feed the nearly 500 people who attended the funeral. Yang was convicted of fatally shooting Pheng Lee during an altercation at Sheboygan’s south side Wal-Mart in January.
