MILWAUKEE (WHBL) - A second night of protests over a deadly officer involved shooting in Milwaukee.

Two police officers were injured and a civilian was shot during protests in Sherman Park overnight. One officer was injured after a thrown rock went through his windshield and struck him, and another was struck by a thrown object while handling protesters at the park. Police and emergency personnel also had to use an armored vehicle to get inside of the park and rescue a 18-year-old Milwaukee man who'd been shot.

Police say around 150 protesters had gathered up in Sherman Park to protest the shooting of 23-year-old Sylville Smith. Officers in riot gear moved in to break up the protest after they blocked off an intersection. A number of fires were started once again, including a dramatic fire of a car that exploded in front of news crews.

Police have also made a number of arrests according to their Twitter account. Governor Walker had offered up National Guard assistance to the police department, but officials say that have not needed the help.

The protests come after a first night of protests Saturday night that left four officers injured and several businesses torched.
