Festival of the Arts Opens This Weekend

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) - Get ready for a great weekend of family entertainment downtown with the 46th annual Midsummer Festival of the Arts.

The Arts Center grounds will be stuffed with art, live music, great food, workshops, and other activities. John Michael Kohler Arts Center marketing director Jamie Huck says there's something for everyone. "People are encouraged to come here and enjoy all the festivities we have. You can stay for a few hours or stay for the entire day, or even return the next day." You'll also have a chance to meet with 135 juried artists and and find something to take home for yourself, including paintings, photographs, jewelry, leather, sculpture, ceramics, art glass, wearable art, and even more categories.

You can also make some art for yourself in the Workshop area. There's stations to make masks, work with clay and pottery, face painting, a special demonstration of making art with a steamroller. Huck says you'll hear some great music from the Levitt AMP Concert Series. "We've got Plutoniates, the Battle of Santiago, WiFEE and the HUZz BAND, áthas, The Hollows, and Copper Box all performing throughout the weekend.

The festival runs on Saturday from 10 to 5 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. You can find out more online at https://www.jmkac.org/participate/midsummer-festival.
