SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Two people face charges after allegedly being caught with drugs in their car.
41-year-old Todd Sterk faces a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, and 29-year-old Samantha Stephan faces possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called out to a north side restaurant for a report of possible drug activity. The caller told police she'd seen a woman inside a car with a syringe and a pill bottle.
Police and deputies arrived to find a vehicle registered to Sterk in the parking lot of the restaurant before it left the scene. Deputies eventually caught up to Sterk and Stephan a few minutes later at the corner of Calumet and North. Deputies interviews Sterk, who they say claimed he had no idea about anything involving a syringe in his car.
Since both Sterk and Stephan are on probation, deputies searched the vehicle and allegedly found a baggie with heroin and paraphernalia inside, with markings indicating it belonged to Stephan.
Stephan is currently in custody on a cash bond and will be back next week for a preliminary hearing. Sterk is also in custody, and will have a pretrial conference next month.
