FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WHBL-KFIZ) -- The homicide trial of a 62-year-old Kenosha man enters its second week in Fond du Lac County.
Dennis Brantner is accused of killing 18-year-old Berit Beck of Sturtevant in July of 1990.
Last week's testimony from prosecution witnesses focused on the condition of Beck's body when she was found as well as whether or not Brantner knew his way around the area where her body was found. Beck was on her way to a work seminar when she stopped in Fond du Lac. Her van was found in a KMart parking lot and her body the following month in a ditch outside of Waupun.
Last Friday prosecutors decided against calling County Medical Examiner Douglas Kelley.
Prosecutors could rest their case on Thursday, at which time the defense would start calling witnesses. Brantener's defense attorney has been arguing that evidence has been lost in the time since the case went cold, and that Brantner had never been to the area where Beck's body was found.
Trial resumes this morning at 9 am.
