SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Families and friends from across Sheboygan packed Vollrath Park Sunday afternoon for a windy day to Walk the Bowl for graduation.
Officials say 722 students took part from all of Sheboygan's high schools. Sheboygan South principal Mike Trimberger says it's tradition for families in the city. "For a lot of us, our moms and dads Walked the Bowl, I know I Walked the Bowl. It's a rite of passage in Sheboygan, it's something that's unique, and you've got to love Sunday graduation."
The event brings together off the graduates across the district for a chance of recognition from everyone. Trimberger says it's not like anywhere else. "It's just a way for our whole community to celebrate what these young men and women have accomplished. And it's just great that we have everybody cheering for everybody today. It's heartwarming."
Senior Nick Cooper says he was proud to take part today. "It's definitely pretty hyped up, and that's what's what we were looking forward to. It's always a great time." Cooper is heading to Central College in Iowa to study psychology and run track.
