SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Two men are facing robbery charges after beating up a man for some Air Jordans.
18-year-old Chase Wagoner of Plymouth and 21-year-old Austin Lesko of Sheboygan are both charged with robbery by use of force in the incident. Wagoner is facing extra charges of possession with intent to deliver narcotics.
According to the criminal complaint, a man called Plymouth police Sunday afternoon to report that two men had strong armed him while he was trying to sell them some Air Jordans. The victim told officers that he'd set up a sale with Wagoner using a Facebook group. The two agreed to meet at Meyers Nature Park later that day.
Police say that when the victim arrived to sell those shoes, Wagoner grabbed for the box and started fighting for it. Police say he eventually wrestled it away from the victim and then allegedly threw it to Lesko before punching the victim and running away.
Police went to Wagoner's home to confront him, but spotted him walking along the side of the road. They took him into custody, and allegedly recovered a scale, some marijuana paraphernalia, and a baggie of Percocet that he had tried to pass off to a woman he was walking with.
Wagoner is being held on a $3500 cash bond and will be back in court on Wednesday June 8 for a preliminary hearing.
Lesko is free on a $1000 cash bond. He'll also be back in court for a hearing June 8.
