SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- An accident at a busy Sheboygan intersection ends with a vehicle heading into the construction area.
Sheboygan police were called around 9:45 pm Thursday night for a report of a two vehicle crash at the corner of Taylor and Washington inside of the construction area. An investigation showed that a 17-year-old male driver from Oostburg ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle driven by a 65-year-old Sheboygan man. One person was treated at the scene for minor injuries, and the teenager was cited for running the red light.
While crews were cleaning up the scene, however, one of the vehicles managed to snap the chain on the tow truck and slid off into a group of construction barrels.
Sheboygan police sergeant Joel Kuszynski says the crash just illustrates the fact that people need to slow down in work zones. He reminds people that congestion is bad along the Taylor Drive corridor, and that people should limit their driving there and taking detours when they can.
