SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- A Sheboygan woman is facing charges for allegedly hiding a missing nine-year-old girl from police last week.

30-year-old Sandra Hearn faces one count of interfering with the custody of a child.

According to a criminal complaint, police called on the community to help look for that missing girl last Friday after she ran away from a local group home. During that search, one of the employees of the home told police that she would likely go to Hearn's house, because she was an aunt and lived nearby.

When police arrived at Hearn's home to look for the girl, they say she got belligerent with officers and said that she didn't know where the child was and that it wasn't her problem. Police also say she told them "if a cop comes to my house again because of [the child's mother], I'm going to kick her ass." Police say they then searched her home but did not find the child.

The child was later located in Milwaukee at another aunt's house, and when questioned, the child allegedly told officers Hearn brought her there in her car.  She went on to tell officers that she had been at Hearn's house while they were there looking for her, but she hid when police arrived.

Hearn will be back in court for a preliminary hearing June 1st.
