SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- You can help clean up Sheboygan and get in a brat fry as well with the Sheboygan Police Department's Neighborhood Cleanup.
Community officer Andrew Kundinger says they want to help spruce up Sheboygan a little bit. "Show the community that we care about the community. We're not just here to respond to calls, we're here to make this community look better and in essence reduce crime in the community because of the way it looks." The clean up will start at King Park at 10 am, and from there move to the King Park, Franklin Park and Flats neighborhoods. Crews will be cleaning up trash, prune overgrown shrub trees and open up alleyways so people can see through and get through them.
A number of groups have already volunteered their time. "We'll have several volunteers from Sheboygan Neighborhood Pride, Boy Scouts of America, and the police department working to clean things up in that neighborhood." Kundinger says they've also got crews manning garbage trucks to help clean up after the volunteers. You also don't have to live in those neighborhoods to help out. "We want to help the city of Sheboygan to look better at a whole."
The clean up runs through 2 pm, and there's a brat fry to follow! You can find out more online at http://www.sheboyganpolice.com
