SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- A Sheboygan woman is under arrest for allegedly threatening officers while very drunk.

50-year-old Apolonia Vargas faces one count each of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and threatening an officer.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a Sheboygan bar Wednesday evening for a report of a drunk woman causing a disturbance and refusing to pay her tab. When officers arrived, they found Vargas swearing and yelling at staff and patrons. Officers convinced her to pay her tab, but she refused to leave, continuing to swear loudly at officers.

Police tried to take her into custody, but they say she began to fight with them, refusing to be put into a squad car and then harming herself on the inside of the squad. Police had to bring out a van to transport her to the police department.

Once there, police say she started having breathing problems, but refused treatment at the police station, and allegedly fought with officers when they brought her to a local hospital to be medically cleared.

After she was cleared, police brought her to the county jail, but on the way she allegedly told one of the officers, "You have no idea what you just started," and that once she was out, she would be going after the officer. When asked if that was a threat, she allegedly said, "You're damn right that's a threat."

Vargas remains in jail on a $500 cash bond and will be back in court May 4th for a preliminary hearing.
