SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- Sheboygan police will once again be out in force tonight to keep an eye out for people driving while intoxicated.
It's one of the city's High Visibility Education and Enforcement actions, and sergeant Joel Kuszynski says that means the department is trying to be visible while out there. "The goal of this is to high visibility enforcement on high traffic areas, the other goal is to educate the public to prevent them from driving while they're intoxicated."
Kuszynski says you'll be seeing officers out in force tonight on some major roads. "It's going to be between the hours of 11pm and 4am and we're going to focus of the area of the I-43 corridor in Sheboygan, and the corresponding state highways that run through the city." He says those roads have been seeing an increase in intoxicated drivers and that officers are hoping to stem that tide with tonight's reminder.
In all, Kuszynski says this is primarily an educational event and that a perfect night for him would be to see no OWI arrests made.
