SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WHBL) -- A woman accused of helping set a pair of fires last June is set for a plea hearing.

20-year-old Kylie Unterwegner is charged of two counts of arson in connection with a warehouse fire and a fire at the Henry Huson Water Tower in Plymouth.

According to the criminal complaint, police suspect Unterweger and 35-year-old Andrew Manderle of starting a fire at the two locations. It took several months of investigation to reach that point with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigations. Police found "incendiary materials" near the water tower including a lighter and matchbooks. A person of interest in the case told police that it might have been Unterweger who started the fires.

When questioned, Unterweger initially denied the allegations, but allegedly told police that she'd acted alone in starting the fires. She then changed her story again and implicated Manderle.

When Manderle was questioned in the Sheboygan County Jail, police say he told them Unterweger had nothing to do with the fires, but that he wouldn't say any more unless federal charges were filed.

Both suspects now face up to 80 years in prison if they are found guilty on both charges. Unterweger is free on a signature bond, and will be in court today at 8:30 am.
