SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man will be sentenced next month after a one day jury trial this week found him guilty of causing a stab wound to his girlfriend back in September.
Judge Angela Sutkiewicz will decide the sentenced April 15th for 24-year-old Ashton Thomaston, who was convicted of second-degree reckless injury.
The charge came about after Sheboygan Police were notified that Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center had a female who suffered a stab wound.
The criminal complaint against Thomaston stated the female first claimed she was attacked while making her way back to her Sheboygan Falls apartment and was stabbed. She later changed her story, saying she and her boyfriend Thomaston got into a fight at her apartment and claimed he came toward her with a knife and when he swung it hit her in the upper right thigh.
Thomaston is facing over 12 years in prison for the charge.
