SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Milwaukee man will be spending six months in the local jail after he took a running vehicle from a Sheboygan gas station back in October.

20-year-old Frank Shaw was sentenced earlier this month by Judge Rebecca Persick after he pleaded no contest to a felony count for taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

According to the criminal complaint, Sheboygan Police were called to the former Tidy Car gas station after a vehicle, left running while the driver was insidethe gas station, was stolen.  Police were able to find the vehicle a short time later and arrested the driver, later identified as Shaw, after he tried to flee.

When asked why he took the vehicle, which was confirmed by surveillance video, Shaw said he came up from Milwaukee on a bus and wanted to get back there, and saw an opportunity with the running vehicle at the gas station.
