SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - The second of two people charged after a drug house was busted in Sheboygan last November was sentenced last week.
Judge Rebecca Persick gave 19 year old Joseph Schmidt a 90 day stayed jail sentence, along with 18 months probation. It comes after a plea deal was reached with prosecutors, where Schmidt pleaded no contest to one count each of maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of THC, while charges of possessing narcotic drugs, drug paraphernalia, and a controlled substance were dismissed.
The criminal complaint against him stated the Sheboygan County MEG Unit conducted a search warrant of a home at 412 Huron Avenue on November 9, where law enforcement found evidence of marijuana, items for its use and sale, and controlled substances.
Schmidt reportedly told law enforcement he had an addiction to Xanax and was trying to get through a drug treatment program after an arrest in Milwaukee.
The other person arrested during the drug bust, 24-year-old Willie Washington of Sheboygan, was recently sentenced to probation only.
