SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - He was originally charged with 12 misdemeanors, but a plea deal reduced the number to five for an Oostburg man connected to several retail thefts at Wal-mart stores in Sheboygan.
32-year-old James Stib was sentenced to six months in jail and two years probation after he pleaded no contest to three counts of retail theft, and one count each of theft and possessing drug paraphernalia.
The plea deal allowed for dismissal of the other seven charges, which included more theft and retail theft offenses along with possession of illegal drugs or illegally obtained drugs.
The criminal complaint stated law enforcement were notified in January and February of 2015 that they had surveillance video of Stib taking several electronics - usually Go Pro cameras - from the stores, which included removing the security tags.
Investigators searched his residence and found the items inside, totaling in value over 24-hundred dollars.
When interviewed, Stib said he took one item, but said the rest came from somebody else.
