Causing Stab Wounds in Sheboygan Leads to Jail, Probation Sentence

SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Sheboygan man will serve four months in the local jail after he stabbed a person on Sheboygan’s north side last October 30th.

The sentence handed down by Judge Rebecca Persick for 36-year-old Michael Swain also includes three years probation, requires him to complete AODA counseling, and not go inside any tavern.  The sentence comes after a plea deal was reached, where Swain pleaded no contest to substantial battery and possession of THC, while a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia was dismissed.

The charges came about after Sheboygan Police began investigating a call of a man who suffered a stab wound to a hand at a residence on North 10th Street.

The criminal complaint states the victim told investigators he and Swain had been drinking, and at one point Swain reportedly struck the victim several times with a fist before he pulled out a knife and stabbed him. The complaint adds Swain originally denied being with the victim the night he was stabbed.
