SHEBOYGAN, WI (WHBL) - A Manitowoc woman won’t have to serve time for trying to steal items from the Kohl’s store in Sheboygan, but she was sentenced last week for narcotic drugs found in the vehicle as police investigated this case.
Judge Angela Sutkiewicz sentenced 23 year old Alysha Gagermeier to six months in jail and two years probation for felony possession of narcotic drugs. As part of a plea deal, charges of retail theft, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.
The criminal complaint against her stated how Sheboygan Police found out about the drugs September 24 when they were first called to Kohl’s to investigate the retail theft incident. A store official says they noticed Gagermeier and another person were trying to take various items from the store without paying, with Gagermeier successful in getting over 400-dollars worth of items to a vehicle.
Police were able to find the vehicle a short time later along with the items. As police investigated, a K-9 unit made a positive hit for illegal drugs. Investigators determined the items were connected to heroin use.
